GPPS polystyrene is a thermoplastic resin that is colorless, odorless, tasteless and glossy, highly transparent granular solid.
Density 1.04~1.09,
Transparency 88%~92%,
The refractive index is 1.59~1.60.
The melting temperature of the product is 150~180℃,
Thermal decomposition temperature 300℃,
Thermal deformation temperature 70~100℃,
The long-term use temperature is 60~80℃.
At 5 to 6°C lower than the heat distortion temperature, after annealing treatment, the stress can be eliminated and the heat distortion temperature can be increased. If a small amount of α-methylstyrene is added during the production process, the heat resistance level of general-purpose polystyrene can be improved.

Molding:
Generally, it can be used directly without drying. However, in order to improve the quality of the product, it can be pre-dried in a blast oven at 55-70°C for 1-2 hours. The specific processing conditions are roughly as follows: barrel temperature is about 200°C, mold temperature is 60~80°C, injection molding temperature is 170~220°C, 60~150 MPa, and compression ratio is 1.6~4.0. In order to eliminate internal stress, the molded products can be treated at a constant temperature of 70°C for 2 to 4 hours in an infrared lamp or blast oven.
During extrusion molding, the generally used screw length-to-diameter ratio L/D is 17 to 24, air cooling is used, and the extrusion temperature is 150 to 200°C.
During blow molding, the parison produced by injection molding and extrusion can be used for blow molding to obtain the desired product. Blow molding pressure is generally 0.1~0.3 MPa.

Applications:
Polystyrene is highly transparent and has excellent rigidity, electrical properties and printing properties, especially good hygiene and low price, making it widely used in food packaging. In the mechanical and electrical industry, instrumentation, communication equipment industry, etc., it has been widely used as instrument panel casings, LED lampshades, optical lens parts, refrigerator drawers, transparent window mirrors, transparent models, chemical acid storage tanks, acid conveying tanks, telecommunications parts, high-end Frequency capacitors, high-frequency insulating liners, brackets, inserts and frozen insulation materials, etc. It is also widely used in various daily necessities, such as bottle caps, containers, decorations, buttons, combs, toothbrushes, soap boxes, cigarette boxes and toys, etc.
